Studying

Q11.

How much do text books cost?

A.

The price will vary depending on the level; however, it should cost approximately 4,000 to 8,000 yen each term.

Q12.

How do you decide which level each student should enroll?

A.

After hearing about a student’s purpose and what they want to study in class, we judge their level and place them into an appropriate class based on an interview and a placement test.

Q13.

I am very worried about studying because I do not understand Japanese at all.

A.

A beginner can use translation and grammatical notes found in textbooks. If a student cannot follow a class, the teacher will help and advise about what they should to keep or catch up with other students.

Q14.

Is there any homework?

A.

In class, we stress speaking and practicing and give homework so students can learn and practice what they have been taught that day.

Q15.

Are there any exams?

A.

In group classes there is a final exam each term to decide if a student can pass the level or not.

Q16.

Do we have to learn Kanji? Is it possible to learn only conversation?

A.

If you continue to study to the advanced level, you need to study Kanji. While speaking is a very important part at every level, to achieve all-round proficiency, we consider it important to learn not only speaking, but listening, reading and writing, which include the need to learn Kanji. For any student who wants to learn only conersation, we strongly recommend private lessons.
